Celebrating Natalie Jasper
1997–2025
An unforgettable mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend
Here’s to our courageous, radiant and one-of-a-kind Nat
A Newcastle girl through and through, Natalie Jasper – or Nat to those closest to her – spent most of her life in and around Heaton. She grew up in the loving warmth of her close-knit family: her Mam, Angela; her Dad, Dean; her brother, Joe; and her sisters, Abbie and Isobel. Not forgetting her cherished King Charles Spaniels: Molly (now passed), Poppy, and Teddy.
“Nat and Abbie were best friends, Abbie would always call Nat for advice and support and Nat was always there for Abbie.”
“Nat and Joe enjoyed sleepovers at her granny and grandads when she was little, they had such an unbreakable bond. Nat was very protective of her brother Joe, often sticking up for him if someone was unkind to him. Sometimes she ended up in fights.”
“Nat loved her Auntie Leanne, they often got asked if they were mother and daughter as they were so alike, they were inseparable.”
- Natalie’s mum, Angela
Natalie and Mathew, her devoted husband, went to the same school, but their love story didn't begin until they met at a house party in their late teens. Sparks flew as they danced the night away, and that fire only got stronger over the 10 years they spent together. They were overjoyed to welcome their beloved son, Oliver, into the world on 1 November 2020 and shared a magical wedding day on 3rd March, 2024.
“Nat was the best mammy to gorgeous Oliver, her legacy lives on through him. She would FaceTime me often and keep me entertained with Oliver.
Oliver was her everything and she was proud of every achievement he conquered. I remember her excitedly texting pictures of Oliver’s school uniform ready for him to start school. She was always organised.”
There was never a dull moment
Nat was the type of person to bring light to everyone around her. She exuded joy and warmth, even when she was faced with personal struggles. Nobody was immune to her unmistakable, cheeky laugh that could be heard from miles around and had the power to lift anyone out of a bad day.
“Her personality was electric.”
– Natalie’s best friend, Lauren
In her late teens, she and Lauren – her future maid of honour – got their first house together. Lauren fondly remembers Nat’s natural affinity for hosting the best house parties.
“She would be dancing around our living room until the early hours, full of energy and giggles. Those nights usually ended with pizza, garlic sauce and chips, then Matthew putting her to bed.”
Natalie’s mum remembers a much earlier time when Natalie showed her love for dancing:
“Nat was a huge fan of the Tweenies when she was little and I remember taking her to see them at the arena, she danced away to her favourite characters.”
- Natalie’s mum, Angela
The impact she had on others couldn’t be clearer at her funeral.
“Nat had so many close friends that it would be impossible to name them all. That deep connection she had with people was reflected at her funeral, where the chapel was filled to capacity, with many standing outside just to be part of the service and say their goodbyes."
– Lauren
A much-loved colleague
From selling sweet treats at Thorntons to pouring the perfect pint at bar jobs, Nat began her working life as she meant to go on: full of enthusiasm and always up for a good time. Her natural warmth, paired with her charming and sociable personality, made her a favourite in every staff room she frequented.
Nat found her feet at True Potential – a financial advice firm that Matthew also worked for – where she served as a diligent Deputy Head of Data Team from 2018. Everybody loved her there, and she always spoke about her colleagues with genuine affection, feeling a real sense of belonging.

A creative at heart
Not one to choose a single hobby and call it a day, Nat was drawn to many different artistic pursuits over the years. When Oliver was born, she came up with the idea of making beautiful personalised teething rings for other new mothers, which shows how kind and thoughtful she was.
Nat also became renowned for her nail art skills, which her friends would gladly volunteer to be models for! But that didn’t stop her from getting her hands dirty in the garden…
“Natalie loved to grow plants, especially strawberries, roses and sunflowers. They gave out packets of sunflower seeds at her service to plant in her memory."
- Natalie’s friends remembering her ‘green fingers’
She really let her creativity and imagination go wild for her wedding, pouring her heart into creating personal touches like favours, table decorations and other heartfelt details to make the day as unique as her and Matthew’s love.
Remembering the best bits
When you spent time with Nat, you were guaranteed a fun time and lots of laughter. She lived life to the fullest, and her sparkling energy was infectious, whatever the occasion.
Lauren remembers the time they went to see one of Nat’s favourite artists, Paolo Nutini, and how determined she was to be right in the action at the very front. Not one to be pipped to the post, she raced past all the other gig-goers, “throwing side-eyes at anyone who dared try to get ahead of her.”
“She sang her heart out to every single song, and when Acid Eyes played, she shed a few quiet tears. It’s a memory that makes me laugh and one I’ll treasure forever.”
Another special memory they shared was the night before Nat and Matthew’s wedding. The two set about the task to tie ribbons around the bridesmaids’ bouquets – a surprisingly mammoth task after a few too many Proseccos! They couldn’t stop laughing as they watched each other tie all sorts of weird and wonderful bows.
“That night’s sleepover felt like we were teenagers again, complete with matching pyjamas that Nat had picked out, a classic Primark special (her favourite).”
The giggling pair stayed up late chatting to the soundtrack of ABBA, making sure all the last-minute tasks for her wedding were sorted. Nat was so excited – and it was worth every second of prep to see how happy she was on her big day. Nobody deserved it more than she did.
We miss you dearly, Natalie
“Sometimes it feels like you're everywhere.”
– Paolo Nutini, Everywhere.
Your unexpected and tragic death has left a hole in the hearts of many, but your light will live on in our memories forever. The laughs, the fun, and the love you poured into your family, friendships and everything you did will never be forgotten.
Happy Memories and a Special Message from Natalie’s Mum
"I used to get asked if I was Nats sister, as you can imagine it did not go down well with her and she would often say if my head got any bigger it wouldn’t fit through the door.
I would often ring Nat when her sister would come out with the most daft things, this always made her laugh.
My beautiful girl showed strength and courage, I always told her how proud I was of her. She endured things that no one should ever have to go through and she would always say she was fine and smile. Love you my girl.”

Britt Wilson Nat and I lived in the same block of flats, and I’ll never forget the time she was pregnant with OJ and urgently needed some paracetamol. I rushed over, completely unaware of how much her bump had grown in those final weeks. When I saw her, I was genuinely shocked, and of course, I said the wrong thing. I made a comment about how big her bump was, totally by accident.Britt Wilson
She never let me live it down.
She used to laugh so hard telling people that story, how I stood at her front door, totally stunned and awkward. Nat, I’m still so sorry for blurting that out, but honestly, it was hilarious watching you laugh at me. That moment, that laugh—that’s one of my favourite memories of us. -
Abbas Jamil Natalie was always great with advice and gave me wedding advice which was probably the best advice i got which wasAbbas Jamil
'the day isn't about you its about her'
Still rings true to this day. -
El Nat was truly a one of a kind, an absolute force to be reckoned with. If Nat told you that you got something wrong at work, then you got something wrong at work. But at the same time she was soft, and caring, empathetic and no matter what, always there for her friends.El
I will forever have all the time in the world for Nat, and she will always be one of the strongest people I know. -
Rhianna Where do you even start with Nat? She was one of a kind...full of love, kindness, and forgiveness, with that cheeky wit and sarcasm that could light up any room.Rhianna
Our friendship really grew at Site 3, where we could talk about anything and everything. The conversations and laughter were endless, and those memories will always stay with me.
One of my favourite memories was our little Starbucks drives to the beach. We’d chat about work, about how quickly OJ and my nephew were growing, or just enjoy being together. I’ll never forget the day in the middle of a conversation, Nat suddenly asked me if that was a dolphin out at sea. Nat had her vision struggles and I was wearing glasses...so you can imagine the scene. We were pointing, laughing, almost shouting at each other, “Over there!” “No, that’s just the waves!” Then, out of nowhere, we both saw it, dolphins (yes the s) gliding through the water.
A whole family of them. We sat there together, in awe, completely mesmerized. - Nat never let me forget how blind I truly am without even having an illness ha.
Those drives were short-lived but full of plans for the future. Nat will forever shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be missed deeply, but never forgotten. -
Bola I remember a day Nat came in to the office after work as she was on leave but popped in for some reason and still helped me with work then gave me a chocolate. A real problem solver, the team would never be the same again and I'm going to miss her.Bola

Rebecca Patterson I first met Natalie when Oliver was a baby, and she’d wheel him in his buggy into the office at the end of the day – he was a little celebrity at TP, it cheered everyone up whenever we saw them both coming in.Rebecca Patterson
I worked with Matthew but Natalie was always an honorary member of our team too. She’d help get the rest of us onto the dancefloor at office parties. She was there at all our social events – deciding on Oliver’s birthday present over Friday beers or chatting wedding planning over Korean barbeque.
When I was pregnant, most of my friends hadn’t had kids, so it made a huge difference to talk to Natalie and Matthew. Out of the hundreds of pieces of advice I received as a parent-to-be, they had some of the best. Natalie could throw herself completely into work and completely into being a Mam at the same time, and I always admired her for it.
My favourite memory of Natalie – though it is still a bit of a sad one – is from the Christmas party. I hadn’t seen her in months and we were chatting away when we realised we were both going to family funerals in the morning. We – maybe unwisely – knocked back an extra drink or two to commiserate together. She connected with people so well, even those she’d only just met or hadn’t seen in a long time.
The office isn’t the same without her. She knew everyone – she was so lovely, incredibly kind and hugely funny. All my love to Matthew, Oliver, her family and friends. -
Becs Riley Natalie you were the most sweetest and thoughtful girl I have ever met! You helped me out as a mother, colleague and as a friend. I will be truly thankful and grateful to have had the chance to have you in my life. Miss you dearly xBecs Riley

Tanya Wakefield My work side-kick, from the day I met Nat at her TP interview not only did I know straight away I wanted her on my team but I knew we would be friends. She was such a down to earth easy going gal who always had time for me, and me for her. When I think of Nat now, I always picture her dancing, she was always one of the last on the dancefloor at the end of the night at TP parties and the one encouraging team shots and even a quick escape for a drunken go on a ride at The Hoppings. I will forever cherish my memories of Nat and her kindness and ability to make others feel seen and included. Love and miss her beyond words.Tanya Wakefield

Stephen Kennedy Where do you even begin with Nat? I was introduced to her through a work project which meant she had to spend hours printing thousands of letters that were my doing (sorry), and eventually she became one of my closest colleagues. The perfect person to work with; solving any problem with a smile, even if she had a stress meltdown in the process. She'd always think of others regardless of what was going on around her; after one particularly hectic week at work, she organised with the rest of the team to hand over a bottle of whisky to me as a much appreciated, but unnecessary thank you for, in her words, "putting up with her".Stephen Kennedy
Nat leaves such a big hole in the lives of so many, and that's testament to who she was. We'll always miss her, and though it's bittersweet, we've nothing but good memories to think of her. A close colleague and a brilliant friend. -
Lauren Davison You’ll always be my best friend mate, in this life and the next. Love you xLauren Davison
